Dunning-Kruger Effect: Mengapa Seseorang Merasa Dirinya Pintar?

Menurut David Dunning dan Justin Kruger pada artikelnya yang berjudul On Being Ignorant Of One’s Own Ignorance menggambarkan bahwa orang-orang yang berkinerja buruk di banyak bidang sosial dan intelektual tampaknya sebagian besar tidak menyadari betapa kurangnya keahlian mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode simak catat karena sumber data yang penulis peroleh melalui menyimak. Sedangkan sumber penielitian ini ddidapatkan dari hasil simak tutur di channel youtube Berilmu dengan judul ”Dunning-Kruger Effect, Mengapa ada Ustadz dan Motivator Dadakan, Kenapa Orang Terlalu Percaya Diri”. Hasil telaah singkat dari proses menyimak kajian ini adalah seseorang yang mengalami dunning-kruger effect merasa dirinya superior dan paling pintar, tidak bisa menerima kritik dan saran dari orang lain. Adapun kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah dunning-kruger effect ini mengajarkan kita untuk tidak pernah berhenti mencari ilmu. Manusia harus menyadari bahwa banyak pengetahuan yang belum diketahui. Agar terhindar dari dunning-kruger effect sebaiknya kita harus bisa menerima kritik dan saran dari orang lain agar kita bisa berkembang dalam hal berpikir dan mendapatkan pengetahuan yang luas.
