Abstract

Islam upholds tolerance. However, what is meant by tolerance is that if we have non-Muslim neighbors or friends celebrating their big day, then let them celebrate without needing us to celebrate. However, leave all their religious activities, because according to Islamic law, all their worship practices deviate from Islamic teachings. This research was carried out using a qualitative method or also called a descriptive approach, namely research focused on finding theoretical sources, then analyzing the data, interpreting it and making conclusions. Meanwhile, the research source was obtained from listening to an explanation by Hamid Fahmi Zakarsyi from the YouTube channel with the title "Tolerance is not mutual respect". In general, tolerance means mutual respect, even though that is wrong. Tolerance is not mutual respect. Due to the fact that what happened was that many Muslims participated in celebrating or enlivening their celebrations, including saying congratulations for reasons of tolerance. This is not tolerance, this destroys faith. Tolerance has limits. And don't go too far. Because when it comes to religious matters, there is no tolerance and mutual support.
